To Protect and To Serve

Just as our law enforcement officers are committed to protect and to serve our communities, Blue Watch is committed to our officers and their loved ones.

Officers experience a unique set of stressors both on and off the job. Our mission is to provide resources that supports the health and well-being of Minnesota and Western Wisconsin officers and their families through a peer support format.  We are also creating peer support ambassadors and training for teams and departments to use on their own.

You never know when you’ve saved a life, but you know when you’ve lost one.

Police Officer Brian Post

The police culture doesn’t look favorably on people who have problems. Not only are you supposed to be superhuman if you’re an officer, but you fear asking for help.

John Violanti, PhD & Former NY State Trooper

A 2012 study of 464 police officers linked officers’ stress with increased levels of sleep disorders, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, brain cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and suicide.

What We Do

Blue Watch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit confidential network designed to focus on officers and their families with peer support resources. Officers experience the same mental, emotional, and physical difficulties that all people do – for officers, the consequences of diminished health and well-being affect the entire community. Peer support teams and resources assist individual officers, teams and departments to collaborate together to enhance the well-being of officers at the front lines of law enforcement.
